Catering

Sheree, on April 12, 2021 at 12:43 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
Hi everyone, my FH and I want different cuisines for our wedding we are thinking about 3 different food stations, we just aren’t sure how to go about it. We know it will probably be 3 didn’t caterers. We were thinking about just having the food delivered from the separate places and hire a staff to help with serving. Does this sound like it’s doable?

I think it's doable, but you might want to tell each caterer your plans. Some vendors don't like to work with others of the same category and require that only they provide all services.

Also, not sure how many people you're having compared to the food, but be prepared for A LOT of leftovers that will come from 3 different food stations.

    Hi Shelly,

Thank you so much for that, I will definitely let each caterer know!

Hmm..I read a post similar to this not long ago on Reddit and several people said they made it work beautifully without a hitch. That said, what they did was order restaurant drop off catering, not full service with staff. For example: tacos/enchiladas/rice from restaurant 1 for 100 guest count, pulled pork and potato salad for 100 guest count from restaurant 2, and Indian curry/samosas/naan for 100 for vegetarian options from restaurant 3.

All of those combined as drop off service will be twice the amount of better tasting food at half the price of just one wedding caterer. No need to deal with contracts that say "we refuse to provide food if you hire other caterers". Just hire serving staff from Thumbtack.com and label each dish. You'te all set from there.

Have you thought about food trucks? Don't know the style of your wedding, but seems like it would work well for what you were talking about.

I have thought about a food truck but it’s a bit more formal than that. I’ll probably have an ice cream truck for the end!

Many food trucks are not designed for catering and can only serve 1 or 2 people at a time. That's why they tend to have long lines at festivals and fairs.

Could you find one caterer that can do multiple cuisines? Most that I have seen do many different types of food
