So I got a question, when catering a wedding do the server's eat as well if so that mean they were included in my budget correct?

Our specific catering company did not feed the catering staff. We fed videographer, photographer, DOC, and DJ a cheaper priced vendor meal that was basically the guest buffet minus the appetizers & plated salad.

Yes we rented linens & china through them (so silverware, plates, napkins, tablecloths, glasses, etc.). The bar provided champagne & barware. We provided our own chargers. It was an extra fee for renting all that.

I pay vendor meals for a lot of vendors but my caterer said he takes care of feeding his people which included the servers, waiters, bartenders and chefs.

The caterers typically handle feeding the *catering* staff, however other vendors may require meals from the caterers. So, In the headcount I gave to my caterers, I gave them a #guests and a #vendors (which ultimately only included my Dj&photographer) but I did not include any of the catering employees in the number I gave them — basically because *they* know that number better than me. If they charged me for their meals that’s cool, but i did not include them in my count (and was clear about who I DID include).

We had a buffet for both our Hindu ceremony & reception (2 diff days). We encouraged all of our vendors to eat. The catering staff was provided by each venue, so they were working, and they have lunch breaks as per local legal working laws.

That is about $32 per person. That is VERY good in my opinion. I guess it depends on where you live. NYC that price is unheard of lol

Our caterer told us he feeds his staff, but we are in charge of our own vendors (photographer, DJ, etc). I would ask them if that price includes their staff. It’s a common question, and they should be able to clarify for you. As latasha mentioned above, that’s about $32 a person which seems about right. You should have a detailed invoice or something that lists all charges too.
