Hi everyone I am trying to think in order to cut the cost of our wedding in june should my FH and I catering our own wedding or find a caterer to do our cooking for us..I also have some family members say they will prepare dishes as well for my wedding. I am having 125 ppl at my wedding. What suggestions does wedding wire have for me...I am open to any suggestions and also has anyone catered their own wedding. Thanks....CONFUSED!!

You and your honey are going to be so busy trying to get ready for your ceremony that it would be too stressful to try to cater your own wedding. And your family and guests should be GUESTS, and not have to worry about the task either. If it's a very informal reception there are economical ways you can have it catered. Even if you had a neighborhood restaurant, that serves your favorite meals, prepare and deliver the food and if necessary those family friends that said they would help could serve the food buffet style for portion control. May I ask how much you are budgeting for food, even if considering doing it yourself? I can help you think of some menus that may work for you.

OK.. Check with your venue. Some will only allow licensed food caterers. Unless you have that. But check before hand. Thanks.

I entertained the idea, then decided that's just WAY too much to even be worried about. There are enough other things that could go wrong, that's one I didn't want to deal with. Hungry people aren't always the nicest if they're not going to be fed. Smiley winking
