Catering request

Alma, on January 23, 2020 at 1:05 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

So my catering service wants to serve dinner as soon as people arrive to the venue. Would that be weird? Or should we have a set time for dinner?

I think that's very odd. I would wait until after the entrances into the reception.

I think that’s nice honestly. Generally they wait until everyone is seated and after you do your entrances, dances, toasts..... but tbh I’m always starving during this LOL and would be so happy if the food was out right away 😂 also would allow for more time of partying after!

Mine said the same thing! There may be a good reason...., but I can't help but wonder if it's bc they want to get in/out of there asap. I will work on our timeline at some point (haven't gotten that far yet) and we will eat when I say it's time to eat lol. Sorry, not sorry caterer lol.

I would wait until everyone is in their seats and settled down. As a guest, I would not want to be eating while others are shuffling around me doing other things.

I would wait. You'll probably want to do introductions and first dances before dinner. Plus dinner sort of breaks up the evening so you don't just have hours of dancing and speeches all at once.

I think that's a little strange. I'd do a set time for dinner. Give your guests time to sit down and mingle before starting to dinner service.
