Catering and open bar

Jocelynn, on November 15, 2020 at 4:40 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
So we are reserving The Cadre Building for our wedding/reception. Has anyone else used them or will be??? What does your catering/drink bill look like? Right now we are at 200 guests and the bill for them alone will be more than the venue, so I’m hoping to decrease our list or find another means of catering.

I had a friend use them and it was a really hefty bill. I recommend looking at the possibility of cutting down on guest list.

That’s my exact thought!!! I would love to have everyone we know in attendance, but financially, that’s impossible.

I have no idea what this vendor is like but I will say this, if you’re having a big wedding and a tight budget, something has to give. For me, food and drinks are a priority and I am spending big bucks on it because I want to avoid ‘wedding food’ and don’t want people to associate the day with poor food or insufficient drinks.

I would advise looking for another caterer and even considering your options with catering to see what will bring the price down without compromising cost (i.e. buffet instead of plated meals).

You are very right...something has to give. I finally found a caterer with a beautiful menu and pricing that fits us. Now we can spend more on the drinks.....I’m still looking to make our guest list smaller.

I don't have the same venue but I did have a list that was closed to 300 people I finally figured it out that we should invite our nearest and dearest and not just because your family so we cut the guest list down to 150 very happy with our list

That’s outstanding. Just spoke with future Hubby and he is on board to shrink our list down!!

I just looked the Cadre up - how GORGEOUS!!! I agree with the others - pare down the guest list. That is the quircket way to save money. Your wedding is not until May 2022? Don't get serious about it until summer 2021 - seriously. You will have VIP's, of course, but there will be people in and out of your life by then. Best wishes!
