Caterer!!!

Kaitlyn, on September 20, 2019 at 11:05 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6

Anyone else have trouble making like big decisions like that?? It was nerve wracking for me, I feel like I read and re-read the email a hundred times!!

Solidifying a caterer seems so huge and it's going to be about $5k for around 75 people and the guy is so nice and his menus are incredible.

BUT! We picked our hors d'ouevres and entrees. Now to set up a tasting.

It’s definitely a big decision because people remember food at weddings so do the tasting and make sure you love it or ask for changes. You will feel better once this is finished.

Yes this!!!! I keep thinking we should cut back on the catering but FMIL wants us to have this place and is going to help us out a little.

Yes, that's why I'm looking forward to the tasting. He is so nice, he's going to come to my FMIL's house and cook for 5 of us (me, FH, FMIL, MOH, BM) and we can sample all the things we picked.

We had a hard time finding someone who fit all of our criteria (good taste, good options, and within budget). As soon as we met with our caterer we wanted to book them. They were so much better than others we met with in all aspects. It was east to make the decision then.

We took a leap of faith on our caterer. Our venue's owner is a chef herself and caters smaller events, but had a specific caterer that she highly recommended both for his food and for his familiarity with her venue and rules. He turned out to be absolutely amazing and our guests raved about the food and requested to meet the chef. It was more expensive than what we were planning on spending, but having been to other weddings where we've gotten sick from the food or there wasn't enough food, we knew we couldn't risk skimping on the food.
