Caterer bail out

Kristin , on August 8, 2017 at 7:49 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

My FH and I were shopping around for caterers in April, finally deciding and putting a down payment on what we thought was a great deal and top chef. Months have passed and we haven't heard a peep from the caterer. After diligently attempting to contacting the company, we finally recvd a message stating the company is now bankrupt and will no longer be in contact with us.

Our nerves are at an all time high being our wedding is October 7th. We're in a bind because most other company's we liked are now booked.... what do we do now. And how in the world do we get our deposit back???

Sorry this has happened to you! Regardless of what you're contact says, if the company has actually filed for bankruptcy, you may never get your deposit back (or you may need to hire a lawyer to get it).

Ask your other vendors - venue, photographer, officiant, etc - if get have any caterers they've worked with before.

How did you pay your deposit? If it's a credit (debt) card dispute the charge.
