Casual groomsmen attire

casey, on January 2, 2017 at 11:11 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

I am absolutely in love with this look for my ring bearer (5yr old son). I am trying to make the groomsmen match this with a more grown up look. I’m thinking light khaki linen pants, white shirts with rolled sleeves rolled, suspenders and a tie. I would like the groom to also wear a vest.

here are my issues:

It looks like the little boy is wearing gray suspenders, not sure how gray suspenders will look with khaki pants.

I love the pink bow tie on the little guy (my colors are mint and pink. The bridesmaids are wearing mint dresses.), but I think I would prefer something darker on the groomsmen. maybe gray or gray with some pink. Again, not sure how the gray will look with khaki pants and vest.

should I go with regular ties or bow ties on the groomsmen?

If the groomsmen wear suspenders, should the groom also wear suspenders or should he wear a belt since he will be wearing a vest?

TIA!

That is an adorable look for a little boy! The ideas you have for your groom and groomsmen sound nice. I'm not the biggest fan of grey with khaki either. Could you switch it to or one of your wedding colors? Or switch to grey pants (thinking that blue/slate/grey color in my head). I think the groomsmen's suspenders should be the same color as the groom's vest too.

If they're wearing suspenders, I think bow ties look better. With a vest the groom could wear either!

My colors are mint and pink too! BM have mint dresses. Men are wearing white shirts with mint ties and FH is wearing a grey vest. Pink will be in the flowers and bouts

I Don't know why this is so hard for me to figure out. I could go with gray pants. I actually really like the look of gray pants. I'm not sure if I will like gray shorts on my son as much though. boat shoes will definitely not work if we go with gray, but they were probably just going to do bare feet anyway. My BM's dresses are also mint. we are incorporating pink with the flowers as well. FH wants a darker colored tie. Doesn't care what kind. That was pretty much his only input.

I have this pinned as well. We were going for a more casual groom attire then FH got a formal suit. Still grieving my original view, but he still looks sexy so that helps lessen the pain.

The men here have grey suspenders with khakis. And the others have navy (though it wouldn't really go with mint and pink). You can also find a brown suspender, that would go well. I personally don't like long ties with suspenders, so I'd go with a bow tie.

But please please please make sure your groomsmen know not to wear belts. They'll look ridiculous.

The one on top is along the lines of what I was thinking, but with lighter pants. More of a beige or cream. I think the safer choice is to go with khaki or gray. Now I just have to make that decision. There are pros and cons to both. If I go khaki I think I will go sans tie for groomsmen. The baby can still wear a bow tie. Gray is easier to find a matching tie.
