Cash Bar drinks

Lynn, on November 24, 2018 at 10:37 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
My reception venue has a cash bar service only and I do not know what guest typically drink on a special occasion. I am open to any opinion.

I'm not really sure what your question is. You need to pre-select the drinks that your guests are going to pay for?

Usually a venue will have different options for the bar - you can choose what kind of beer/wine and what kinds of liquor you want - top shelf or not. Is that what you're trying to choose or is it something else?

Yes I have to pre select our guest drinks and I'm not a drinker.

Beer and wine are going to be the most popular.
Cider is quite popular nowadays too so I'd make sure you've got lager/ale/cider/red wine/white wine (rose too?).

And possibly a few spirits if you know you have people who like them: whiskey, vodka and rum are probably the most popular.
I'm sure the venue could help select specific drinks?

I would ask them if there is a fully stocked option. Then... if not, ask them to stock with beer (light & regular), wine (red and white), Jack Daniels, Bacardi, Skyy, Jose Cuervo, some type of scotch, and Jager (just because it's such a popular order these days). FYI, I used to be a bartender, so if I could only have a limited bar, that's what I would stock it with if I were doing my own cash bar.

It's a cash bar? I'd offer everything you can, since the guests have to pay for it. For sure beer & wine, and I'd offer liquor if you can.

Venues usually have different packages you can choose from like top shelf or premium liquors, etc.

I would opt to have wine (red and white) beer, and you can go for the usual vodka, rum, gin, whiskey. Or you could also have a couple of signature drinks...
