Carnival Wedding

Phil, on November 1, 2016 at 11:53 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Hello!!! We're planning a carnival cruise out of Port Canaveral. Has anyone done this before? Any tips or helpful information. We sail Oct 8Th, 2017, but the wedding is on the ship prior to leaving the port

First, call your cruise planner. If you don't have one, call Carnival and get one. Talk over the details with them - how guests book, where, food and booze details, etc.

Second, let your guests know early. As someone who has cruised special occasions before (and just for fun) I know that the rooms can fill up pretty fast sometimes, so if you want your wedding guest's rooms to be in the same area they need to book soonish.

Third, and this is probably a given, but get a passport. Tell everyone going to get a passport. Some ports let you use a birth certificate, but a passport is a million times easier and expedites the getting on/off process at ports.

If you've got any other questions about anything cruise related, just ask Smiley smile

I have an on-line friend who hosted one for her daughter. She said it was fantastic, but she was the MOB, lol.

I'm so glad you meant Carnival Cruise Lines. I thought your wedding was going to have clowns with big shoes, sword swallowers, games like tossing ping pong balls into gold fish bowls, a cotton candy machine, calliope music, flashing colored lights, and carnies wandering around.

I'm doing a cruise wedding with carnival. I would definitely recommend creating a wedding website and sending your save the date out soon so guests can reserve their rooms.

Make sure you look at their photography packages - some are pricey.

For $1 a room you can get welcome bags delivered to your guests rooms.

I suggest dining at the same time so your guests can eat at the same time. The 6pm is better then the 8:15 since the shows are later on around 8/9 IMO

You get changed in the room you are staying in so think about that in deciding what size room you want. It's why we went with the ocean view. Guests have to come on board changed.

Be prepared that guests may not like the idea. I had guests who get thrown that it's a shorter reception or on a boat or really a million things. Just roll with it and try not to get upset

My FH and I will be married on the Carnival Imagination in January. Just got our save the dates and are sending them ASAP so our guests can book early if they choose to sail with us!

I plan on making seashell and brooch bouquets for my brides maids and I, instead of using the provided silk flowers. What other ways do you guys plan on making your wedding your own? I have heard people bring decorations and favors and am considering those as well.
