Carnival Cruise wedding...tips?

I don't understand how you are getting married on a ship but don't want people sailing with you? Are people allowed on board while the boat is in port or something? Is this a destination for your guests. If they aren't local, it might be kind of rude to have them come and then be like "sorry, we want to be alone now, no cruise for you"

That being said, my cousin got married on a Norwegian cruise line ship. I wasn't able to make it, but I know one of the things they talked about was that they weren't allowed to use real flowers.

All guests except for 2 are local...most of which will have a 15 to 30 min drive. All guests will come on the ship to witness the ceremony and there will be a 1.5 hr reception with open bar and a dj. Thanks for your honesty....the reaction you have may be what my guests will have and like I said, dont want any hurt feelings. My FH has 13 siblings...and along with the huge family tends to be a lot of drama I just dont want to be surrounded and he feels the same. We do want them at the wedding but not crazy about the thought of them on our honeymoon. I drink on occasion but many of them dont and those people can be very judgemental...and quite nosy.

I just feel stressed because I need to get these invites out and dont know what to put!
