Caricatures!!

Ciera, on August 28, 2020 at 10:33 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 12
So most caricatures in our location have been okay with doing weddings while following cdc guidelines. I really wanted to have them at our wedding as I think it’s such a fun idea, but our venue is staying we can have them BUT our guest will still have to wear a mask for the few minutes while they do them. My last option was to see if any mask mandate would be lifted to a more recommended than required, or ask if our guest choose to do a drawing with another person can the chairs be spaced out, and while the artist draws one person with their mask off the other person can have their mask on.

Or should I just put the money else where, since it could also be a pointless idea to have if they have to wear a mask.
Lol my fh seems to not really care, and said we can do them if we want, but like I keep going back and forth with myself🙄

The mask mandate is there for a reason. If there wasn't a pandemic, it would be a great idea. Otherwise put the money elsewhere.

It never hurts to ask the question to the venue about if the mask removal would be permitted if correct spacing was followed! They might allow it. If it still wouldn't be allowed, are you opposed to the pictures being drawn with the guests wearing the masks? I think it would still make for a memorable picture. Otherwise, I would use the money elsewhere.

Put the idea away for another party, another time. Meanwhile, when did conversation, food and drink, maybe dancing, become inadequate for a party?
So many parties with just that, people tear themselves away due to the late hour or distance home, when they could easily talk a full 4 hours after dinner started. No need for games, activities, or conversation starters. The ceremony, cocktails, intros, speeches, a tual eating, cake cutting etc take so much time at most weddings, often there is only 2-3 hours for both dancing and conversation. Encourage people to chat, not focus on yet another thing, even in small groups. Your wedding should not be the one and only time you ever entertain. Simply the beginning of your entertaining as a couple. Start a folder of good ideas for a party another time, and put caricatures in it. They are a fun thing to do. Just not necessary at a wedding.

I think it’s better for another party also cause caricatures take a long time to do per drawing and so what if a lot of people want it

I'd save the caricatures for another party. Masks are required for a reason

Personally, I would love a caricature of FH & I with the masks! This is one of those crazy once in a lifetime events (hopefully!), and that would be a fun momento from it!

Yeah, honestly even with mask on I it think it would still be memorable tbh, but if we say no then yeah we will def. use the money elsewhere. At this point I’m okay with mask or with out I will probably just draw from a hat 😂

I’m sayinggg, and yes once in a lifetime events forsure!! Like literally we have a caricature from sixflags and they are always your basic ones smiling one, of course. Why not change it up a bit and throw a mask in the mix 😂

Seconded! What a fun memory for yours guests. It’s literally an exaggerated drawing, lean into it and include the masks!
Plus, it may speed up the drawing so everyone gets to do one 😉

Could they do them outside? Isn’t the venue allowing food to be served, I wonder why they so tight on this point. If not I’d probably skip having it if masks were required.

Unfortunately, our wedding is in November and daylight savings will be taking place. Food is being served still as a Buffett we just had to get additional servers so that way our guest aren’t going throw the line serving themselves, but the servers will be the ones putting it on their plate.
