Capitalization question on invitation

What Minted has is correct. You capitalize the day of the week and the month, so Friday and July, but you do not capitalize the numbers. The name of the resort and location should also be capitalized because those are proper nouns.

I left it as all lower case though because I decided I preferred the consistency throughout. And I'm not going for super formal

I don’t like it personally, and it’s never on a formal invitation. But if you’re not being super-formal, it can be acceptable if you like that style.

Get on the phone with customer service asap and get it fixed. The location needs to be capitalized. An invitation should know this, and even a semi formal wedding invitation would have proper capitalization.


There is no consistency because the date is capitalized but the location is not. That’s a red flag and your guests will notice and be confused.

My final proof is everything all lowercase, so it's consistent (except for our names). It's actually how the original wedding invitation template was, too.

Curious, but do you have the actual address on the invitation, in addition to the name of the venue? Not that it should be published online for anyone to see. But it is an important detail because not everyone will pull up the website on their phone.
