Canvas print size for guest book

Pham, on July 13, 2018 at 5:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
We’re planning to print a canvas portrait of one of our engagement photos to use as our guestbook. We have about 130 guest. I wanted opinions on what size I should have our portrait be?

We were going to do this and photographer FBILs advised 18x24 which he said should make a great size to hang on a wall at a later date.

Would love to hear what others think!

We had 130 adults and got approximately a 20" x 28" watercolor print, and it was a bit tight for guests to sign. Not everyone signed it and one person even signed right on top of another.

I think it worked out fine, but a little larger canvas might have worked better. Also, most people wrote a short note and not just their names, which obviously takes up more space.

One thing to consider too is you may have 130 guests, but are all of those people that would sign individually? A lot of times couples/families will sign together for instance, are any of those 130 ppl children? A +1 of a single person that you invited?

Also consider how much negative space is in the print you chose (no one will want to sign right on your faces, so make sure you choose a shot with a lot a sky etc so people have room) Smiley smile

We are doing 24x36 because FH wants a humongous big thing that will be impractical to have for years to come. He also believes that guests will want to write the whole bible there.
But if i were marrying a different FH who has normal ideas of measurements, I'd go with 24x18 😂

Following because we want to do this too!

We have no idea of size yet but we want to collage a few of our engagement pictures together with a large blank border for people to sign in. That is as far as we have gotten with designing it.
