Can't find Invites I Like

Kimberly, on April 1, 2014 at 2:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

I've browsed probably every website suggested on these boards for invitations and I can't seem to find anything I like. Everytime I get fed up I decide to DIY them so I go to cardsandpockets, start picking out paper, and then realize I would be spending more money on that then just ordering invites. I'm feeling really stressed about this!

I'm in the same boat!!! I've ordered samples from two popular vendors and didn't like anything! I'm waiting for samples from a third vendor and am crossing my fingers. I don't have the time for DIY, and desperately need to find something. I had no idea that this would be one of the hardest parts of planning!

I had the same problem when I started looking at invites. Have you ordered samples? That was how I finally narrowed in on what I wanted and picked something.

I sent to cards and pockets to DIY them and I think it's so worth it.

Don't give up yet!!! I wanted to DIY, then i realized it would have been a stress bucket nightmare for me haha.

I really liked mine from The Green Kangaroo. Their customer service is excellent.

This worked well for us since we've been together for almost 7 years and because FH wanted a square invitation LOL.

    1 - What CeCe asked

2 - Can you describe what style you're looking for? Maybe we can point you in the direction?

Have you gone on Etsy? I was having the same problem and had mine designed on Etsy and printed with VP.

I was stressing out about this too and just decided my cheapest option while still keeping the look that I wanted was to print them myself. I found boxes of 50 invites with envelopes and 50 rsvp cards with envelopes for $35 at target I bought two boxes and also got two boxes of the matching thank you cards (50count for $15) so overall I spent about $100 and will be printing them at my parents house.

Edited: It's not neccesarily DIY because they already have the design on them so I just have t print the info... I may also add a simple ribbon on the bottom but we'll see

I've looked at weddingpaperdivas, vistaprint, zazzle, michaels, gartnerstuduos, Joann, David's, minted, invitations by dawn, exclusively weddings, hobby lobby, paper source, cards and pockets.

I think part of my issue is my budget. I don't want to spend over $100. But I'm finding tons of options (usually with sales like vistaprint 40%). I just don't feel good about any of them, you know?

My colors are navy blue and neutrals (ivory, creams, browns, rustic). I would ideally love to incorporate lace. I'm picturing all neutrals with just a navy blue ribbon or accent of some kind.

Also try: mixbook, Magnet Street, TheAmericanWedding.com, and definitely look at etsy.

I definitely suggest going to Etsy. You can work with the designers on there even if the design isn't EXACTLY the way you wanted it.

If you have something specific in mind, see if a local university or college has a graphic designing degree and try contacting a student that is trying to build a portfolio. Our friend is a graphic designer and has done a fantastic job, and we just went to a local printer which was MUCH MUCH cheaper than ordering online, plus everything is just the way we want it, and we didn't have to conform to the templates. Just a suggestion!

I sorta DIYed mine. I bought clipart that I was able to dowload to my computer and upload on to zazzle.com. The only thing I don't have to do is print them out. Below are my invitation, rsvp, and save-the-date

I had the same problem so I am printing my own. It will be under $100 for me to make my own.

I bought a digital file on etsy and printed them at Staples. It was easy and there were so many options. I stressed about invitations for 9 months.

There are many vendors here on WW who offer custom design services. An experienced invitation consultant can help you narrow down the choices and reduce your stress.

You can start by browsing categories under the photos tab, or use the search tool to find a vendor near you.
