Can't find a veil to match my dress

MaryD, on March 6, 2018 at 10:47 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
So I FINALLY said yes to my dress! Im so excited to wear it again Smiley smile but now I'm trying to decide on a veil and I'm at a loss. I'm having a hard time finding a lace that matches my dress, and I'm wondering if maybe I should skip the lace altogether and do a more simple veil? Or maybe with a little sparkle? I'm not very good at accessories so any help would be much appreciated!!

Your dress has such amazing detail that I would look for a simple tulle veil.

Your dress is gorgeous and you look so good in it! I'd look for a simpler veil so it doesn't compete with the details of your dress. Maybe look for sparkle just on the trim of the veil to match your dress, rather than lace. Although, your bridal shop might be able to make you a veil with lace that matches your dress. If you have the budget, a chapel/cathedral veil that goes past your train would look amazing.

My dress is very similar to yours (Lena by Maggie Sottero) and I'm going with a sheer veil that tapers from elbow length at the front to fingertip length in the back. It's got beading/thread on the edges that mirror the silvery embroidery of my dress.

My dress has a lot of lace as well so I ordered my veil off of Etsy. It is just straight tulle and I love it. Mine is very long but that is what I wanted. You can find shorter ones if that is what you want. I got my veil for about $60 verses $350 at a bridal store. Just something to look into

Thank you so much! Thats a really good point, I was concerned about it competing with the detail. Unfortunately doing the veil custom at the bridal shop is out of my budget. Oh my gosh I saw your dress at my bridal appointment and it is gorgeous! Your veil sounds perfect for it Smiley smile

I used Blanca Veils on Etsy. I purchased her starter kit, which provided me with the tulle and lace options so I could match the color and lace to my dress. It worked out perfect! My veil was also significantly cheaper than bridal shops and it’s just as, if not more gorgeous than any other veil I tried on. I went with Blanca Veils through recommendations on here and I also highly recommend this shop!

If you wanted lace I would look for a much thinner lace edging.

My dress is also lace, and I hated the veils I tried on with the wide lace edge, but I loved and ordered one with a much thinner lace edge. It was just enough to tie in, but it doesn't compete with my dress.
