Can't decide

Lynne, on June 25, 2019 at 12:46 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

I personally don't like veils, so I don't know if I want one. If I did want one it would be a short one, no need to cover my face with it.

FH doesn't see the point of the veil.

For a retro Grease style, a shoulder length veil! So cute. Or a birdcage.

I am doing a birdcage veil with a flower clip. I was not going to do veil then I decided since my dress was on plain side i wanted to jazz it up,

Skip the veil. Why wear something you don’t even like? It’s your wedding, so don’t do things “just because”.

It's definitely not a requirement if you don't want it, but I'd encourage you to try some one just for kicks if you have the opportunity. I didn't think I'd like a veil, but seeing it on me made me definitely want one for the ceremony. I'm going with a one layer fingertip length that's very simple, and won't be used to cover my face at any point - I just like how "bridal" it makes everything look.

You can do whatever you want! You could go with a pretty flower barrette or a headband. I personally like birdcage veils. I agree with you about veils covering my face. Definitely not my thing!

If you don't like them, why would you wear one?

I didn’t like veils but when I tried one on that was the moment I felt like a bride, not the dress. I found a pretty fingertip veil and I’ll take it off after pictures. I’ll still have a hair pin in my hair for the reception.

I feel the same way! I don't want a veil, but I am going to have some baby's breath accents in my hair. I think a lot of brides are starting to skip the veil. Do what you want to do!

I'm late to the convo but just thought I'd say I think this was a good choice. If I remember correctly, you were doing a rockabilly theme, and I think the veil would have clashed, and there are so many things you can do with your hair or other type of headpiece that will look so good and fit with what you want

I like the look of bird cage veils, but I'm not sure I like them on me. I will probably go without one.
