Can't decide between two dresses

I am completely in love with two dresses and am totally paralyzed making a decision. I asked a few friends and I'm getting an even split which is making it worse.

I used to do pin up modeling so I initially wanted a dress to reflect that. I found one that's retro and amazing but very simple.

I ended up trying a lace sheath that I thought I would hate and it's beautiful. A bit sexier but a lot more bridal.

I'd love to get some opinions from people who don't know me that are just based on the dresses and how they look!
(Ignore my crappy expression in dress #1. My mom was driving me crazy.)

This is really tough!!! I had to think about this for awhile. I like how timeless dress # 1 is (and yes I have an annoying face on in one of mine because of my mother LOL). I think dress two. I'm not a fan of lace but dress #2 looks stunning on you. It's very flattering to your shape. I guess my two things to consider is 1. what are your accessories for dress one? and 2. how are the dresses going to look bustled?

I absolutely love the 1st dress on you. If flatters you so much. You can always dress and add to this with elaborate jewelry or veil, makeup, pop of color in flowers or shoes or nails.

Such a hard choice! Any chance you could get BOTH used?? You look amazzzzing in both.

Is one more comfortable than the other?

I'm not sure why, but I love the first dress with this venue. So classy, and elegant. And I get you saying this is the one time you can go all out, but you want to be yourself. Maybe you can glam it up or "go all out" with hair, makeup, and accessories (veil, belt, shoes, jewelry etc etc)?

BTW, LOVE this venue. It's beautiful.

I can see why you’ve been a pin-up model - you’re beautiful and have the look (and I could see personality) for it. So I would definitely recommend dress 1 based on that.

However... (not sure if this is helpful or not).., if you aren’t making the 40’s an element whatsoever in your event, dress 1 might look a bit disjointed from the rest of the event. You don’t need to go over the top with themes I don’t think - touches of such really give a wedding a personalized but elegant vibe.

if you’re not wanting to incorporate the 40’s in your wedding, or want to get away from the pin-up model history, which is only something you can answer (and your FS, if they want a wedding theme), go with dress 2. ;P

OMG that ballgown would look stunning here. I LOVE this venue, I have always wanted to visit New Orleans, I am so jealous! I am learning photography and so many photographers love this spot, your pictures are going to be amazing. I think the ballgown reflects that old school southern charm, but I might be being ridiculous, whenever I think of southern plantations I think of hoop skirts! I think with the simplicity of the dress you can really play around with accessories and can do up the retro look with your hair. The other dress is gorgeous as well and may be well suited for the reception you are hosting, but I wouldn't let that be the deciding factor. You look amazing in both, which one did you feel the best in? I tried on about a dozen in my first (and only) appointment, and felt really amazing in several, but got butterflies when I put mine on. I would go back to the salon (alone if you went with friends the first time) and try them both on again. I think you will know after that!

Thank you! It definitely has the pin up vibe. I hadnt even thought about incorporating a lace train with it! That might be a game changer.

That's exactly why I chose the ball gown! The venue screams Scarlett O'Hara and I figured the dress would go with that. I'll have to go back and try on both like you said.

I LOVE dress 2!! I originally thought I wanted a satin/silk dress too but then my mom told me that they tend to wrinkle fast (she wore a satin dress for her wedding and it wrinkled almost instantly). Just something to keep in mind while deciding. Plus, the train on the second dress is amazing!!

First of all, you look stunning in both, so either way you are making a good decision. The lace in dress number two is gorgeous, but dress one is so clean and simplistically beautiful. My vote would be for dress one.
