Candy Buffet - When to buy the sweets

charley, on September 30, 2018 at 8:32 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11

Should i start buying sweets for the candy bar at the start of 2019 - we're getting married in September or just save all the money and buy them at once?

With the second option i'm not sure how many i'd need so thats why I'm thinking i should start buying before hand

    I’d just wait.

You still have a couple of months.

What kind of candy 🍬 are you going with?

For example, will it match your theme or just be all the same color?

Curious on this too. Candy usually lasts a good chunk of time. My brother and sister in law got married in the summer but went to stores the day after Valentine’s Day and stocked up on all the 50% off bulk valentines day chocolate. Their theme was black and red so the red Hershey kisses and miniature bars went nicely with everything.

We're just going to have like an old fashioned pick n mix theme where guests can take home a treat bag instead of us doing favors so we'll have

Harribos, milk bottles, million sweets, marshmallows just all out favorites really - no specific colour theme etc.

I'm not getting them right now, I was thinking about starting to buy in feb-march 2019
    ready for the wedding.

I would consider their shelf life and see where you go from there, but after V day there are always sales, worth considering that too.

For those I would say closer to May/June unless you find a really good deal somewhere

I’m doing a candy Buffett as well. I’m gettong married April 27th 2019 and I have band i bags saved so far like the gummy bears, twizzlers, airheads and non chocolate candy. I have them stored into a big plastic tote in my basement. I get them on sale and stock up on ones I know I want. I got them in June and they are all good until July- August of next year.

Hi Charley! I think that it's best to wait about a month or two before your wedding to buy the candy for your candy bar! Unless you are looking for something very specific, candy will always be in stock! Therefore, you can wait until a few weeks before your wedding to purchase it! Smiley kiss
