Candy Buffet - What size bags for guests?

ThatGirl, on December 10, 2018 at 11:22 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5

Hi! I am working on the details of the candy buffet and trying to figure out what size / type of bag / container to provide guests for the candy buffet.

I was thinking these:

candy bag? Candy Buffet - What size bags for guests? 1

But wasn't sure about the size... either 4.5x2.3x9.6 OR 3.5x2.3x6.7 - or neither? I know the size seems just marginally different but square inches of candy can really add up!

We were also considering little "Chinese food" take out food style containers, but weren't sure those really fit our theme...

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Unless you are pre-filling them I don't think the size is going to make much of a difference. I am getting those bags and I am getting the 3.5 because we are putting little cookies 2 or 3 per bag, and don't want them to see super empty. If you are pre-filling them then I would get the smaller size.

We are not pre-filling them. I guess I’m just trying to figure out how to make sure the guests don’t feel like we’re giving them a bag to put three M&Ms in, but also making sure that one guest doesn’t over stuff, I’m probably overthinking this way too much. I think we have an excess of 40 pounds of candy so it shouldn’t be a problem either way as I think we have estimated nearly 3/4 lb per person...

My bags were 5x7. I would choose the bigger size especially depending on the types of candy you have.

If you aren't pre-filling them, then I would get a smaller size, people tend to fill up whatever container size they get, and you want everybody to get some...

Perhaps something like this from Etsy ?

Seems like the ones you are looking at are quite large on the bottom, which would allow for a lot more to be put in each one. I do like that that you can close those, though. I would hate to run out of candy!
