Candles!

Bridget, on April 19, 2021 at 10:45 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5
Hey guys! I’m looking for some advice. We are doing vintage style candle sticks as our center pieces.. I attached some photos for example. (But we are doing no greenery) Candles! 1

Candles! 2

We are allowed to use real flames at our venue, we just need some type of glass under the candles Incase it were to drip or tip over. I don’t want to use a mirror, it just isn’t my style. But I’m struggling to find anything else to use without spending a fortune!

Girl I’m doing the same thing!!! Except we’re going to add the greenery also. I’m getting dripless candles at the DOLLAR store (yes, they actually work because I tested them out on the candlesticks I so vigorously thrifted one day. I have so many, it’s crazy). And I’m going to put a giant circle platter underneath from the dollar store and spray paint it to match and to also complete the look. The dollar store has awesome circle platters that will work great.

I’m thinking of also negotiating a deal with our florist after our wedding, to see if she wants to buy the candlesticks from me when the wedding is over, she sounded very interested also and they can use it for rental inventory and take them off my hands! It was so much cheaper thrifting them then renting them, and I can get my money back after the deal is done!
Check the dollar store for centerpiece items!!

That’s awesome advice, thank you! girl I love me some dollar tree 🤣🤣 what color are your spray painting the platters? we are doing all gold accents, which is the color of the candle sticks and not really doing color anywhere else. Keeping everything neutral!

I have the same picture you shared first save on the phone also lol! I bought as many brass candles I could find, and any candles sticks that I bought that were glass, I spray painted a brassy color also to match. So the platters will probably also be brass to keep it all neutral, maybe a little different tone break it up, not sure yet. These are the candles that I had to spray paint because they were glass so now they match the brass ones.

Some of the metal candlesticks are a little gold, some are a little brassy, so it’s going to look a little mix metal like but not a huge difference. But overall it’s all the same family of colors so it will look beautiful!

Depending on your overall aesthetic, you could use a charger plate, a silver serving tray, or a slice of wood
