Candle lit Ceremony

STB Mrs Van Blargan, on July 31, 2010 at 6:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

How would I go about having a candle lit Ceremony?? I am getting married in a small church and want a romantic feeling. If I go for candle lit, it will be battery operated candles.. what do you think of this idea??? I already plan on having my bridesmaids carrying them instead of bouquets.

If you do the battery operated candles, I would put them in either a colored vase or a frosted vase, just so they "look" like real candles.

I think it would be very nice, assuming your church is ok with it. Would your bridesmaids be carrying actual candles or also the battery operated ones?

Battery operated ones, because my mom said that the candles would get too hott to carry

The LED candles have a realistic "flicker" to them. You'll have to use a lot of them all around the church in addition to having guests hold them. As you approach each row, the guests in that row could turn on their candles. By the time you're at the front, all the candles would be on. I think it would be pretty.

IMPORTANT: Let your photographer know s/he'll be shooting in a low light situation.

Make sure there isn't going to be Halloween shadow faces from the lights shining up!

Be sure to let all your vendors know about your plans. Your officiant and musicians will need adequate light to see what they are doing (clip-on reading lights work well, and are not overly bright). Make sure your photographer is comfortable with this, too! It takes a lot of skill to capture low-light images.
