Candle Lighters?

Personal attendants seems to me like a nicer way to say bridal servant, so I'm not a fan of that position. Usually the only positions of honor are to be in the bridal party (bridesmaid or maid of honor) or to be a reader. What exactly would a candle lighter do?

Aren't they a part of your wedding by....showing up to your wedding? Why would you give them a job?

I was a candle lighter in my 20s and honestly I hated it. It felt like I wasn’t good enough to be a bridesmaid but still had to buy the dress and everything else that goes along with being a bridesmaid without actually being one. In all the pictures I was paired up with the escorts who were teenagers. It was an awkward position at my age to say the least. Have them do a reading or making them a bridesmaid may be better.

It seems a bit strange for adults. What about asking them to do a reading? Or ushers?

Personal attendants is another word for slave. They don't need jobs. Let them be guests.

If I had them as candle lighters I wouldn't make them by a special dress, they could wear what they wanted. My brothers are the ushers.
