Candid or posed pictures?

Candid! That's why we hired him! We will do pretty much all of our wedding photos candid but we do have a shot list of family members we want to get after the ceremony that we will do posed photos for in the church, other than that we're just going to be ourselves and trust him to get the right shots! Here's some from our engagement shoot with him!

We loveeeee the candid photos we got from our photographer. I feel like anyone can take posed photos, but capturing candids is more of an art form. We told our photographer we wanted them to focus on capturing "moments"

I like candid photos more! Posed pictures look unnatural to me, but I would still take a few. But majority would be candid.

We hired our photographer because of his photojournalism style. Capturing MOMENTS as opposed to posed opportunities. Of course, we got the traditional posed family photos and bride & groom portraits, but for the most part, we wanted him to capture the feel of the day and the vibe of the party so we can remember it for more than "standing in front of this cool looking door," you know? That's one of my favorite parts of photography - when you look at a great photo album of candids and "moment shots," you get the same feelings all over again!

I definitely understand what you're saying!!! Capturing the moment would definitely mean more to me than the "perfect" posed photo!

I love posed shots that look natural and I loved candid shots! I specifically avoided all photographers that had corny posed shots. I loathe posed shots where the bridal parties are pulling the bride and groom away from each other, fake surprise from bridal parties seeing the bride, bride and groom standing back to back with their arms crossed, anything along those lines. I was recently in a wedding where the photographer wanted us bridesmaids to stand to the side of the bride as the mom was buttoning the dress and hold our hands up in front of our faces and look awed/surprised. It was so forced and awkward.

Both. There r some shots that I want posed for framing purposes. For our album I would like more candid. Our Photographer did a great job of capturing both for our engagement shoot.

A combination of both. I definitely want the traditional shots but also candids are always fun

We are doing a little bit of both. Some of the standard posed pictures, and then the rest of the night candids.

I remember your engagement shoot!! It was so nice!!

I like the candid photos better. They tell a story or capture a moment in time.

Candid photos are my favorite. The only posed photos we will have are the family portraits.

View Quoted Comment I was so surprised by it that I don’t even think I did what they wanted lol. And it was a completely dry wedding, not even a sip of champagne on the limo ride to the ceremony site lol!

Candid. We always look so strange in the posed pics.
