Cancún Honeymoon Car rental doubts

I personally would not rent a car. When I was there, I took the bus everywhere.

Also, several of my friends experienced police pulling them over for no reason and threatening to take them to jail if they didnt pay a made up fine. This is not uncommon for them to do to Americans. Mind you, in these situations, my friends were from Cali and were driving their personal car in Tijuana.

I personally wouldn't rent a car there I would do either public transportation(taxi/shuttle etc)

I've been to the Cancun area multiple times, and I have never rented a car. We always book transportation from airport to resort through the hotel (it's usually cheap) and then excursions that include transportation if we decide to leave the resort. All of the police with giant military guns on the roads have made me not want to ever try driving there.

Definitely don’t rent a car. There’s taxi or bus.

Go with private transportation or taxi/bus for sure!! They drive a little crazy and the roads are a little confusing in Cancun proper.
