Can you put return addresses on RSVP cards?

Bride2Be2018, on July 19, 2017 at 11:38 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 20

I see a ton of people complaining(rightfully so) about getting blank RSVPs back. I get it, like how hard is it to write your name people!!! However, can't you just print out small return labels for the RSVP cards with name and address of the guests on them? Is there something wrong with this concept?

ETA: I know you can also use invisible ink or number the cards...this just seems like the obvious answer to me...unless there's some big reason not to do it.

I plan on numbering the cards. I also added the food card attached but you always get those idiots who can't follow the simple directions. It seems like a lot of work to write out all the addresses for RSVPs though.

Yes, you can do that or the numbering route. I printed out small return address labels on my RSVP postcards. I also put stamps on the RSVP postcards, which is common courtesy.

Yes, 100% on the stamps on the RSVP cards!

We just wrote people's names and return address on the RSVP envelopes so we'll know who sent it. We only had 44 invites though, it would have been a huge pain with a bigger guest list.

You can absolutely put return addresses on them! I opted to just number the back of the cards to save myself the time and hassle. I just hope I didn't mess up any of the numbering lol.

Just numbering them would be easier, cheaper, and look nicer IMO.

Also, if you pre-fill the names they don't have a good way to communicate who is coming if, for example, only one half of a couple is able to attend.

@St Paul they would be responding on the actual RSVP card who is coming. The names would just be on the outer envelope.

I numbered the cards to figure out who it belonged to on the back top corner in regular pen. I also put return addresses and stamps on their envelopes so that its stuff, seal and shove it in the mail slot.

I wrote the names in, on the RSVP cards themselves.

I numbered the back bottom corner with a regular pen. Very small. It's much easier and quicker than filling out their address.

I plan to have the guests' names and address already included on their RSVP card.

I wrote names on the back in the lower right corner, very small and discreet. We only had 20 invitations to send though, if I had a bigg w r guest list I might have down amo we thing different.

I thought about doing the same (return label on RSVP postcard).

I just added the number on the back and that's been helpful so far!

I don't see why not. In fact I think it's a great idea and wish I had done it on mine. We got back the first two RSVPs today and so far so good but I know it won't last. Lol. I say go for it.

@Mrs Fall bride as previously stated they will not be written out. The concept would be to print them on labels. I already have them in a spreadsheet from the save the dates.

Yes @op it's not done often but I don't get why either! The site I'm looking at for invites has a free service where I can upload names and addresses and they'll print them on the RSVP envelopes for me!

I wrote their name out on the cards for them along with the number of seats reserved for them. I wanted it to be clear who in their household was invited and who wasn't since our wedding was adults only.

@Jillian...I used the wedding wire app and had originally entered all the addresses/names on there...so I just transferred them to a word doc to create labels Smiley smile That's pretty sweet about that free service on the website!!!!
