Can wear wedding band with engagement ring ?

Vitary, on August 19, 2025 at 4:05 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 2

Hello friends!!

I have a 3ct lab-grown diamond ring that my partner bought from the Etsy shop Minimal Jewelry and Co. The moment I saw it, I completely fell in love! ❤️ Just curious—can we wear the engagement ring first and then the wedding band below it?

Absolutely, yes! You can wear your rings in any order that you love.

While there is a tradition, how you wear your rings today is completely up to personal preference. Here’s a simple breakdown:

    • The Traditional Way: The tradition is to wear the wedding band first (closer to your knuckle) and the engagement ring on top of it. The idea behind this was that the wedding band, representing the marriage vow, should be closer to your heart.

    • The Modern & Practical Way: Many people, like you're suggesting, prefer to wear the engagement ring first and then slide the wedding band on after. There is no right or wrong way, and people choose this for several reasons:

      • Aesthetics: Sometimes the rings simply look or fit together better in that order.

      • Comfort: It might feel more comfortable for you.

      • Personal Meaning: You received the engagement ring first, so wearing it first can feel logical.

Ultimately, the most important thing is that you love how your rings look and feel on your hand. Wear them in the way that makes you happiest!
