Can the neckline be lowered

Can the neckline be lowered 1
This is currently my dress in alterations, the seamstress is adding darts to reduce the bust. I would like to have a more defined sweetheart neckline, such as a v shape that shows more cleavage. She informed me that this isn't possible, as it would "mess up the dress." Does anyone have any ideas on this?

I would trust the seamstress honestly. They're the pros and would know best. That being said, obviously people have done what you are asking for in the past, but maybe the structure of thier dresses are different than yours. If it is super important to you I would send photos and ask other seamstresses what they think

You could try sending photos to other very skilled seamstresses to get other opinions. For what it’s worth though, the dress looks ah-mazing on you just as it is!!

Have you tried playing around with different bras? Maybe there’s a way to change the look of your chest with shapewear to get what you’re wanting rather than changing the dress itself. I’m much less “gifted” in that area than you are though (prob not even wearing a bra in my dress) so I might be wrong!
