Can Pre cana be transferred?

I am getting married at my original church i grew up in but i live 1,000 miles away now and wanted to know if you can take pre cana locally but transfer it to the other church? Any experiences?

I think it can transfer as long as you keep your certificates on you for proof.

The best thing to do is contact the church you are getting married at and ask them. Some churches have a specific thing they want you to attend (like the weekend retreat) and some are more lenient.

We did our PreCana in Chicago and got married in Delaware. The priest there requested the priest here send an email saying we completed the session. Granted ours wasnt the typical PreCana lol

We were given a certificate ar PreCana to provide to our priest (although we did ours at our church). There were probably 20 couples at our PreCana and only 2-3 couples getting married at our church. I would double check but I'm pretty positive it's transferable.

Ask the church you're getting married at. There was a ton of confusion at both the diocese we married in and the diocese we did pre- cana in about where we should do it and how it would transfer, etc. It ended up being fine, but double check before you sign up for anything!
