Can i wear velvet?

I was just invited to a wedding in mid November in the northeast. I'm wondering, could I wear a velvet dress as a guest, or is it too early? I know it gets cold and maybe even snowy up there in November, but I dont know if velvet dresses are only for holiday events. Thoughts?

    Velvet is good in any season. They also have summer velvet. But it pretty cool here in late fall. Velvet would be lovely.

    I don't see any issue with wearing a velvet dress to a November wedding. As long as it matches the formality of the event, guests should be able to wear anything (minus a wedding dress lol).

    I'm from New England and I'll say, I start seeing velvet becoming popular around here in October, sometimes even late September. So it should be fine! Lots of places do really pretty fall colors that are just gorgeous in velvet too. I always loved the velvet look.

    I would wear velvet in July if I thought I could get away with it!

    November is definitely appropriate! (I think even as early as late September/October depending on the location)
