Calling my PA, OH, WV, IN and MD WWers...Giant Eagle cake?

One of my friends from high school is actually a baker at the newer one by the wave pool, Settlers Ridge area in Robinson. I'm in FL now but I got a cake from there in June for my stepmoms bday when I was up....not a wedding cake but it was good. My friend, Amy, posts her cakes on fb though and they look very nice. Sorry I guess I'm not really much help but I can find some of her personal cakes and post pics if you want

I live in Maryland but have never heard of the chain Giant Eagle, and so I have to admit when I read this thread title I assumed you were getting a groom's cake shaped like a giant bald eagle, and I was SO EXCITED!

Here are pics from my friends fb page that works there. I know Buddy from Cake Boss went to their store and did cakes with them and everything. That's the newer Giant Eagle at Settlers Ridge in Robinson. But like I said I only had a bday cake there but I'm sure they offer samples or tastings whatever

Of course a real bakery is going to taste better though if it's I your budget. I called Publix, our grocery store, and the cake was only $100 cheaper than a bakery and they only offered the tradition white, chocolate, or marble. The bakery had over 20 flavors to chose from. Never heard of Giant Eagle but hell if I haven't heard of Giant grocery stores

I'm Ohio about an hour from you. I have had their cakes for birthday parties and it wasn't bad. They even did a filling in the middle. I've never done anything for a wedding though.

Hi, Danielle! I'm also a PGH bride..getting married at Heinz History Center. What part are you from? I've had Giant Eagle cake a million times. I would say it's good -- for grocery store cake, it is definitely my favorite over Kroger, Shop n Save, Costco, Walmart, any other grocery store-type bakery. I didn't know they did wedding cakes. If you're on a budget, that could be good! But i think a true bakery would taste better. What about a small cake from a bakery to cut into and then sheet cakes in the back from giant eagle that is sliced up for guests? I know some girls do this to save money. Hope this helps!

I ordered a cake for FH, from Giant Eagle.We really enjoyed it.

I like there cakes a lot, but idk about how well they decorate.
