Hi WW community! I have an heirloom ring, engagement and wedding, from my grandmother. Tell me your story, and show me those beautiful rings!

This was my great aunts ring. I had wanted it since I was a little girl and I am so thankful my mom saved it for me.

FH's grandmother's engagement ring from 1948: an OEC in its original platinum setting. I love that the ring is exactly as she had it and that I get to wear something that was part of another beautiful love story. His grandparents were married for over 50 years.

This is my great grandmother's ring. We were best friends until she passed away when I was 12. My mom saved it for me to have someday at the right moment, and after FH and I started discussing marriage, my mom gave it to him. I couldn't be happier to have part of my Grammy physically with me.

I love reading all these stories. I wear my grandmother's engagement ring on my right hand. I think she got married around 1935. I always loved it when she was alive, and am so honored that she said that I could have it when she passed. It's my most prized and sentimental possession. Unfortunately, I lost the diamond while walking my dog, and it was replaced with a cz, which really shows in photos. I plan to replace it with another diamond someday. She had lost her original diamond before too, so I didn't feel quite as bad about it.

My engagement ring is also a vintage setting, with all the stones replaced. The diamond is an antique round cut in a square setting. (I forget the exact cut name.) It reminds me of my grandmother's ring, and I just love them both. (Photos are my grandmother's ring first, and then mine.)

Just snapped this real quick at work so I apologize if it's slightly blurry but here's mine!

Engagement was an active discussion for us before my FH officially proposed. We set a budget and decided to go vintage for both ethical and aesthetic reasons. We were looking at rings from the Edwardian era all the way up to the 90s and he told me to send him a list of my top 10 favs which he would then pick the winner from. It was fun trying to guess which one he chose!

In the end, he picked this 1970s cocktail ring which caught my eye because of it's unique shape and fabulous sparkle! It reminds us both of a star!

    ETA for spelling

This is my FHs great-grandmothers 25th anniversary wedding ring. It has been passed down through his family on the female side since then He doesn't have any sisters so he told me his mom would probably hold onto it.

It's even more special because my in laws home was robbed about 6 years ago and all of my FMILs jewelry was stolen. My ring was in a box which had fallen behind a dresser and that's the only reason it's still here!

It means so much that my soon to be in laws love me enough to entrust me with such an important family heirloom that was almost lost once.

    I love everything about it!

FH custom made my engagement ring to match this eternity ring from his grandmother. I'll be using it as my wedding band. They match perfectly and her ring is exactly my size!

To me, this thread is amazing. The little "ering" I am wearing right now is vintage (late 20s art deco style piece) but my original ring was not. I am just worried it won't fit with my wedding band.

So mine is a custom design from a local jeweler and friend, Waylon Rhoades. My fiancé helped design the ring with inspiration from celtic knots, the infinity symbol, and ivy (my celtic tree astrology) the diamond is an heirloom from my FMIL original engagement ring from my fiancé's biological father. I am blessed. It looks yellow, but it's actually very coppery rose gold!!!

When my FFIL wanted to propose to my FMIL, he took his father's diamond tie clip and diamond cufflinks to a jeweler and had a custom ring made to propose to my FMIL with. The ring was made in the mid 60s but the diamonds are much older. When my FH told his mom that he wanted to propose, she gave him this ring. It means so much to me. Although his parents are divorced, they both get along great and I'm very close with the both of them. I don't have much close family of my own, since my mom passed away 6 years ago, the only person in my family I'm close with is my sister. So it's been a blessing to be welcome into his family from the first day I've met them. I love my ring so very much. I found a gorgeous diamond set ring guard insert from Zales that matches my engagement ring flawlessly. That's what I'll be using as a wedding band. The quality of the pic doesn't do my ring justice at all. It's very sleek, feminine and has a vintage look that I adore. I'm loving this thread and all of the stories that go along with each ring. Cheers, ladies !

This is my FH grandmothers ring, and then his moms. His grandmother passed when his dad was a teenager, so his dad kept the ring. Then gave it to his wife (FH mom) of course, who added the band as her wedding band. She had it soldered together and we decided to make the whole thing my engagement ring. FH had to replace a few of the smaller diamonds and the bigger diamond with a yellow one to make it more unique for me. My wedding band is gonna match the band part on this one and be all yellow stones Smiley smile. I absolutely love it! This thread is so great ladies, I love hearing all the stories.

Edit: FH mom is still alive, I realized it kinda sounded like she passed away and that's why I got the ring. She's just a surgical nurse and never wears it so she offered it to us!
