I have my last dress fitting next Friday and another shower on Saturday. I have my last dress fitting next Friday and another shower on Saturday. I want to try out a spray tan before the big day, so I made my appointment yesterday for next Thursday at 5:00pm (the only time they had). Since my dress fitting is exactly 24 hours after I have it done, I am wondering if that is too soon to be trying on my dress...will the spray tan rub off on it that soon?

Also, they said to exfoliate good and be sparing on lotion/deo before having it done. I will be showering that morning, and usually put lotion on my whole body after I shower. Will showering that morning be alright if I'm not having it done until 5:00 that afternoon? Do I still not need to put any lotion on?

Thanks, ladies! Smiley smile

@LivelyBride, thank you! I am just trying on my dress to make sure the alterations are right, so hopefully I'll be good. I will definitely do it two days before for the wedding!

@Jenn, That's why I am doing this "trial" run. I have red hair, so I have very pale skin. I have been using some Jergen's sunless tanner, and it took away the ghostly-ness, but that's about it. I'm like you, as a redhead I don't look good really dark; I just want to take away the pale! I am going to try to remember to post before/after pics!

@Jenn: When you get your spray tan, the technician will ask you what shade you'd like. Some girls over do it and go too dark. LOL but there are lighter options for that simple glow. Smiley smile

@SunshineJenn, if you go to an airbrush person not the booth they mix up the spray tan for your specific skin tone. It depends on the place but the one I went to for my engagement photos (in my avatar) had a range of 1-6. If you just wanted a sunkissed look you could just do a 1 or 2 so it would be a hint of color. You could test it beforehand to make sure its not orangey Smiley smile

I think personally I would rather go to a tanning booth for a week before than an airbrushed look, just personal opinion. I have seen disasters with many wedding dresses and spray tans... I'm not sure I would chance that. No different in money to get a few tanning booth sessions just to have that sun kissed look. Smiley smile

Why I'm having an August wedding.. tan will be good by then Smiley smile

@Michele, I have laid in the tanning bed since I was 16 (yes, bad I know), but this year it started making my chest break out. I tried different lotions, no lotions, etc. Not sure what happened since last year, but that's not an option for me. Believe me, I'd rather tan too! Dangers & all...

ETA: When I say break out, I mean my entire chest/boobs/neck looked like a teenager's face who was going through puberty. The doctor thought it was some sort of allergic reaction.
