Calling all September 2020 brides!!!

Rebecca, on January 17, 2020 at 1:25 AM Posted in Planning 1 4
Hey guys,

So I am getting married on 9/26/2020 and I am feeling super overwhelmed with all this wedding planning. I know this is supposed to be “fun” but this is literally the opposite of fun! Every time I think I’m making progress I realize there’s some other vendor I need to book or that I still need to plan something else. Just wondering if any other 9/2020 brides are sympathizing with me right now? How do y’all deal??

    Date twins!
I definitely felt overwhelmed at first but that’s because I had no idea what we wanted! Got engaged aug 2019, and only about now have I started mildly enjoying the planning process. Now I feel like we have a clearer vision, concrete budget, and know what we want. I made a planning binder to track of everything, which is so nice. It’s like a mental dump so I don’t have to keep everything in my head and worry I forget something. This is a free template and was very helpful for getting started https://www.botanicalpaperworks.com/blog/read,article/741/free-printables-wedding-planning-binder-download-with-new-bonus-pages

Hello fellow September 2020 bride! As of right now I have all my vendors booked. It does seem like when I do one thing it leads to 10 more lately. What I did was break everything down into a monthly to do list. Like this month it was contact my officiant, photography, venue and DJ to make sure the ceremony time would work. That way I could order invites soon and start doing my day of timeline. As time gets closer there are more things to do, but I feel rather calm just because each month I am accomplishing something and crossing something off my list.

I am also getting married on 9/26/20! Is anyone else nervous about the coronavirus ruining their wedding?? I am getting married in Denver, because that's where I was born & raised... I am just so nervous. I ordered my wedding dress in the beginning of December, and I called the bridal shop to make sure that everything is ok, and they said my dress is still set to arrive in May... but I am honestly expecting the worst and freaking out!

I am sorry you are not enjoying this process. I am getting married on 9/24/2020. I have had a completely different experience. I am enjoying planning so much and there are a couple of things that have helped.

    1. Checklist and to-do list have been my friends! The basic invite wedding planner I have loved and it's free! https://www.basicinvite.com/wedding-planner-printable.html

    2. Know what my fiance and I wanted out of the wedding. Cutting out the things you are doing just because they are expected, but not because you actually want them. ( we don't have wedding parties).

    3. Budget!

Good luck and I hope this experience turns around for you!
