Calling All October Brides

Sydney, on May 18, 2020 at 8:31 PM Posted in Planning 1 5

Hello everyone! I just booked an awesome photographer and we have been talking and she was wondering what my timeline is going to maybe look like! My wedding date is still far away (oct-2-2021), but I am a big planner. I was wondering what your guy's schedules look like! I am not having a first look, and my venue stops the music at 11. I want pictures with my fiance and me at sunset as well as pictures with the bridal party and family. I want to make sure everyone has enough time to enjoy the reception after the ceremony and after eating since we have fire pits! I am getting ready at my venue as well. Show me examples of what your October wedding schedules looked or will look like!

I got married in November in the mountains and I wanted daylight for the ceremony and to finish all pics before sunset. You can google sunset times in your zip code to find out what your timing should be. We did ceremony 3:00, 3:30-4:30 pictures and cocktail hour, 4:30-5:30 special dances and dinner, 5:30 toasts and group photo, 5:45 dancing, 6:45 cake cutting, 8:00 sparkler exit. We kept it somewhat short because it was a Sunday.

I got married in October, in the mountains. Our photographer made our schedule for us. We had a 5:30 ceremony and we did a first look. So we started photos, in our respective cabins, at 3:15 doing last minute getting ready photos (we had 2 photographers). Our first look was at 4:00. Photos with our wedding party at 4:30. We started wrapping that up a little after 5:00 so we could do final touch ups and get ready for the ceremony. Our cocktail hour was 6:00-7:00, which we used for additional photos with each other and our families.

I would look up what the time of sunset is on your wedding date. But again, our photographer made our entire schedule for us. It’s part of their job to plan that. So I would ask your photographer her/his professional opinion on timing.

October 23, 2021!! So far we just set a time for 5:00 or 5:30! Til 10 or 11! I’ve officially decided to opt out the wedding party I just have my son who will be 5 during that time and my daughter will be one at the time, I wanted a small short Ceremony and I want to focus on myself. So far I have a building, food, colors, theme, I’m having a hard time deciding what dress type to go with and hair

We're doing a 4pm ceremony, 4:30-5:30 cocktail hour (sun will be just starting to set, but still, super pretty). We're doing a first look--I'm in the wedding business and pictures are always the element brides/grooms VASTLY underestimate time for. We're aiming for the sun to be setting right around our first dance; I'd really like my guests to get to see our pretty venue with as much daylight as possible (all outdoors), and we're going til either 11 or midnight. Fire pits sound lovely! We're in California and it'll likely still be "summer evening hot" for our wedding date; I wish we had a reason for fire pits!

Sunset is typically between 6:00-6:30 here so our ceremony is going to start at 3:30pm. We probably could push the ceremony to 4:00 but I want to allow adequate time to spend with friends and family immediately afterwards, time for photos and travel to our reception venue.
