Ok ladies, our reception centerpieces are themed, not color coordinated. Our theme is the Nicholas Sparks movies, specifically-

The notebook

A walk to remember

The choice

Message in a bottle

The best of me

The lucky one

Safe Haven

Each table will be a different movie, so I need centerpiece decor ideas!! Each table will have votive candles, and 3 quotes from the movie/book that we pick out that is that specific table. So safe haven will be one table, the notebook will be another, etc etc. Nicholas sparks movies is one thing we LOVE together, and the notebook is kinda our story. (Met as teens, had a crazy summer of being in love and best friends and then we lost touch for 8 years, and here we are again!) So we definitely wanted to incorporate that into our wedding. So give me some ideas!!! Smiley smile

How old are you though? Have you read all the books? These books are terrible and unrealistic. Why would you spend the day comparing your story to a bunch of cheesy unrealistic crap?

@OliviaP the first time I watched the Notebook I had to ask my friend to pause it so I could take a minute to sob as loud as I needed to to make it through the rest of the movie LOL

Also if you really don't care what your guests think then go ahead. But most guests will be confused and wondering what the hell is on the tables.

Sigh....we aren't comparing our life to these books. I simply stated the notebook reminded us of ourselves. We met as teenagers, dated for a summer, I moved away. We lost touch. We both got married. Now both divorced and we reconnected again.

Make all the centerpieces the same. Name the tables the movie names. Get quotes from the movie, put a quote on each place setting.

Someone did this at a wedding I went to with love quotes from like Hemingway and Shakespeare. It was beautiful. We all went around and read the quotes at our table.

Oh not at all! I've read every book he's put out! I'd be thrilled if I went to a wedding where the centerpieces were Nicholas Sparks themed!

Honestly, it's decor which most of the time people on this site say is extraneous... unless it's a theme they don't like. With that said, this isn't necessarily my taste, but I like the idea of using some type of unifying thing (keep the centerpiece the same, and name the tables the books would be a good way to do that).

I'd like it too. I've read all of the books as well, and its fun. Not all weddings have to have floral centerpieces, something fun and different could be cool too.

Thanks. Apparently this thread has turned into great comedy for others to bash me and the fact that it's my 2nd marriage on another thread. Real classy group of ladies we got here.

I actually think it might be more confusing to name the tables after the book titles, people will be looking for "A Walk to Remember" but have no idea where that is in the room.

I dunno, I guess if I was a guest and I saw something like this I wouldn't really care, even though it's not my personal taste.

My H and I had the two chairs from "Up" molded in clay as our cake topper. Sure there were people who didn't get it ("why would they have chairs as their cake topper?!") but then the people who DID get it and did understand the significance explained it to them and it was all good.

You asked for opinions. You got them. It's not our fault it's not what you wanted to hear.

On the wtf Wednesday thread. I was ignoring all the comments about how stupid the theme idea was and how nauseating my thread was, till the fact that this is my 2nd marriage got brought into it.
