Calling All Long Island, ny Brides!

Futuremrs., on June 1, 2018 at 10:39 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

Hello! I recently got engaged and while our tentative date is in Fall 2020, I like being prepared. Sadly, we both grew up and live on Long Island, and we're all to aware of just how expensive a wedding here can be. With that being said, I'm hoping with the right spot and tons of do-it-myself decor, we can make it happen within our budget.

We'd like no keep it to $10,000 or less. We likely won't honeymoon right after the wedding and instead will do a year or two year anniversary trip instead.

Does anyone have any venue ideas to check out? Either all-inclusive at under 10K (doubt they exist) for 100 MAX guests or just a pretty venue/location where we could bring everything in. We have food in mind if we'd need to bring it in for a great price so we are not at all opposed to just renting out a space and getting permits and all other decor and such ourselves. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, 10K for 100 people at an actual, all-inclusive wedding venue on LI is very likely impossible. It's definitely impossible if that 10K is also supposed to include entertainment, photography, your dress, etc.... My wedding cost 62K for 150 people at an all-inclusive venue in Westchester, and we didn't take a honeymoon either. It's also usually more expensive to rent a blank space and bring in all your rentals and catering.

I'd look into private rooms in restaurants. We did our rehearsal dinner at an Italian restaurant with 55 people for $4300 including tax and gratuity. We had a cocktail hour with antipasto platters, then a plated dinner with a salad course, a pasta course, an entree course, and then dessert, plus unlimited wine and beer.

    Good luck!

Heyyyy so I would check out East Wind in Wading River, I think they have affordable wedding packages. Was talking to someone and they are getting married at the cottages at east wind and they got a great deal. My fiancé and I also live on Long Island and are actually getting married out of state to avoid how expensive and crazy it can be to have a wedding here. Good luck with everything! But I think a East wind is affordable if having a smaller wedding, it’s worth checking out

Hi Tetyana! Welcome to the WeddingWire Community! Smiley ring Have you tried our Venue Search? I would begin there! Here is a list of venues in Long Island to get you started:

    - Venues Near Long Island, NY

Since you want locations to fit up to 100 guests, I filtered the results by capacity to show venues that will accommodate that amount. You can filter the options further on the left-hand side for other specifics! If you happen to find a venue you like, I would be sure to find out about their outside catering rules, or if you know a caterer, see which venues they usually partner with. Good luck!

There is no way to host 100 people on 10K on the island. I am sorry! I just did this myself.

We got married at East Wind in April and paid 17K for 109 guests. This was the smallest of the packages they offer (I do think they offer one for like 9K, but it's only for up to 90 guests, during off season months and off peak times {Friday Day, Sunday} So we would up upgrading a few of the things that came with the package to work for us.) We did wind up choosing a Friday to save a few bucks as well. I also went very, very minimal on decor, didn't do STDs, cut out a lot of extras like guest book and had a small BP. The wedding was lovely and I am glad we chose that location, but it was a schlep for us (and a lot of my guests) because we live in western Nassau and this venue is in Wading River.

However, all in, we spent about 23K- when you take into consideration attire, invitations, bridal party gifts, hair/ makeup, overnight accommodations, tips etc.

If you really need to stay closer to 10K all in you are going to have to cut your guest list to like maybe a third? Look for restaurants with nice private party rooms, an elks lodge or maybe consider a brunch wedding.

    GL!

Mediterranean Manor has an all inclusive package for $11k for 100 people. The East Wind is close for their Cottage venue as well. Good luck and congrats!
