Calling all Ivory dress wearers

Nicole, on May 11, 2017 at 1:55 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

Hi, My dress is ivory lace over champagne. I am looking into buying my veil. Should I also order my veil in ivory? Is the white against the ivory too obvious or can you not really tell a difference? Sometimes the ivory veils can look a little too dark/yellowish. Anyone with an ivory dress, what color is your veil?

I have an ivory dress and an ivory veil. I think that the contrast between an ivory dress and a white veil would make your dress look yellow. There are different shades of ivory.

This is the veil I purchased and doesn't look yellow at all Smiley smile

I have an ivory dress. I went to the store that I bought the dress (BHLDN), and they matched a veil for me.

I had ivory dress and veil--BUT they both were so close to white, that without holding them to a sheet of paper you couldn't tell. I agree that some ivory veils can border on yellow, which I don't like.

I also just asked a girlfriend that owns a bridal shop..she has brides wear white veils with ivory/blush/champagne dresses all the time without it being noticeable. She did say if there is like a bold lace detail that may lay right on the dress fabric would be the only time you might actually notice.

My dress is ivory with champagne underlay and went with ivory veil. I tried on the white veil and it did not look well at all.

My dress is ivory with champagne colored tulle over top I ended up getting a champagne veil. My bridal consultant also reminded me that I should order ivory colored shirts for the men to wear as well because in pictures with FH the ivory in my dress and the white dress shirt will be noticeably different.

My dress and veil are ivory and looking at the dress you can't even tell it's not white. I would go with the same shade.

My veil was also ivory. I personally think a white veil WILL stand out too much. Here are some non pro pics from my guests. Please excuse the bad lighting.

My dress is Champagne with ivory lace. I'm using my sister's veil, which happens to be ivory. I think the ivory veil looks better with my Champagne dress than the white, IMO.

My dress is ivory over champagne and I ended up with a blush veil. You can't even tell unless it's completely separate from the dress.

My dress is also champagne with ivory and I had a really hard time finding a veil i felt matched. I decided I was going to make my veil so I went to a fabric store and bought a few different shades of tulle and brought them home so I could decide which one matched best. Buying all the materials only cost me $15!

My dress is dark ivory with a light ivory lace overlay, and my veil is light ivory. I tried a 'pure white' veil and an 'antique white' veil and both made my dress look yellowish.

My dress and veil are both ivory, also both from the same store (BHLDN) and they match pretty flawlessly!

My dress is also ivory lace over champagne underlay. Although I haven't purchased my veil yet, the veil I liked best was ivory. I did try in a white one and it didn't seem too 'stand out white' I just liked the matching ivory better! I think you would be able to do either!

I had an ivory dress and my veil was ivory too. The veil looked really yellow when it was rolled into itself but once it was placed the way it's supposed to, I couldn't really tell. I got my veil from Blanca Veils on Etsy.

White makes ivory look almost yellow. Just get an ivory veil to go with it!

I went with an ivory veil. I was thinking about a white one. There was quite a bit of contrast, but I liked it. Mom liked ivory better and she paid for it, so I went with it. It looks amazing with my dress and not dark/yellow at all.
