Calling all Criers: Did you cry, and if so when?

Are you an emotional type? Are you a sympathy crier? I've cried watching Beauty and the Beast, when the farmer sang to the pig in Babe, and in countless episodes of Say Yes to the Dress, so chances are, I WILL cry on my wedding day.

I am also pretty practical when it comes to handling emergency/public situations though, so I am expecting (and hoping) that I won't cry during the ceremony because I'll be too busy just dealing with it, but I do expect to cry during my hair and makeup, when I'm getting ready, just... generally, lol.

SO! My fellow criers! DID you cry? If so, WHEN did you cry? Was it exactly what you expected or at a different time? Tell me everything!

I am not a crier, but I fully expect to cry at some point because I'll be missing my grandpa who passed a couple of months before we got engaged. I started crying at a wedding I was a bridesmaid in last summer because the bride danced with her grandfather and I just lost it. I can only hope it will be during a private time because I hate crying in front of people.

My mom on the other hand is 1000% a crier and will be in tears all day I'm sure. At that same wedding I mentioned, she was bawling THINKING about my wedding because I told her the song I chose for the father/daughter dance. Honestly, that bingo idea someone mentioned would be hilarious for her. There's a good chance I'll have to stick a few tissue boxes at her table just in case.

Awww, I actually think those area really good times to cry! Like no one saw anything except your bridesmaid/person walking you down the aisle! That's super sweet.

Not sure if you're like me but my body really surprised me when I started crying, it came out of nowhere, and was just because I was so happy. I've never experienced that before!

I am actually not much of a crier, FH is more than me.

However this past week the entire wedding has hit me and I've cried twice, once during a bridal show and once when I received his grooms gift in the mail. I thinking I will likely tear up a little.

    Aww, bless! that's super adorable!

You could always get an embroidered handkerchief for your mum, specifically for crying into, if you know she will? My parents aren't big criers, but my dad LOVES an old fashioned handkerchief so when we had extra time because of our postponement, I embroidered these for my parents as a secret extra wedding gift:

Aww, that's understandable! I guess it does begin to build up when you start thinking about it!

I have never cried so much in my life until I met my fiancé - being in love makes me sensitive I suppose! I cry much more at shows and movies now. I nearly cried at his friends’ weddings, and I barely know them. I cry when fiancé says very sweet things to me. Therefore, I fully expect to cry somewhat at our wedding - hoping I don’t lose it entirely in the ceremony because as of now whenever I start daydreaming about it I get teary eyed already haha! I did cry at my proposal, but not as much as I expected, so I’m hoping it’s not too much at my wedding. Although if my dad gets emotional I probably will. I worry about devolving into a puddle but I’m hoping the audience will trigger my composure so I can stay coherent 😆

I’m not normally a crier but I expect I’ll shed a few tears. I know FH will. At my parents’ wedding, all the guys (my dad, uncle, both my grandfathers) cried but none of the girls. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is similar. 😂

Haha, i also have all these worries! Plus, you know, a few beautiful delicate tears is fine, but I don't want to full on ugly cry, haha!

Haha, that's adorable! My fiance's brother got teary eyed when he saw his wife! I am not expecting that from my fiance though, he's a very calm, measured person, and to be honest I'd be really thrown off if he did, I've never seen him cry and would be kind of horrified if that was the first time! Fingers crossed he doesn't, I guess...? Like it's such a nice moment but would probably make ME burst into tears for sure!

Oh my gosh, I hadn't thought of something like that but it would be so cute and thoughtful! Thanks for suggesting it!

    UPDATE!

I did cry on my wedding day. I burst into tears when I saw my hair and makeup all done for the first time, and when my friends saw me in my dress and when my sisters (my bridesmaids) saw me. I was just SO happy that I got a bit emotional, haha.

I did NOT cry during the ceremony but my now-husband got a bit choked up and made everyone ELSE cry, which was very unexpected but extremely sweet!

I also got really choked up AFTER our ceremony, just before we walked into our reception. I was just so overwhelmed by how happy I was that I had to take a minute, and I wasn't expecting that at all!
I guess having done it, my advice would be - you might cry and it's totally ok if you do! People are touched by your emotion and aren't shocked or anything. And especially, it might not happen when you expect it! But either way, embrace it, you might some lovely photos from it!
