California fires

Megan, on August 5, 2020 at 12:58 PM Posted in California Planning 0 4
For those in Cali, and have weddings in October in a rural suburban rural area; do you worry about fires (aside from COVID)?

Also if one happens what kind of backup plan’s do you have?

I think fires are always a slight cause for concern in rural to semi-rural areas during fall in California. I know quite a few wedding venues have burned down over the last couple of years. Typically, in those cases, the wedding venue has contacts within the wedding community who reach out to the venue to offer their spaces for affected couples. I'm a part of a large So Cal based wedding group and whenever there have been emergencies, there are so many people offering services, venues, and support. I don't think I'd have an active Plan B just in case of fires, but you could always ask the venue what would happen if one was to occur.

I always worry about fires being in Lake county. We get hit hard almost every year. We just made sure our venue would let us reschedule if there was a fire. Aside from that we try not to live in fear.
