California Brides! Stage 3 is happening

Molly, on May 26, 2020 at 6:08 PM Posted in California Planning 0 16

I just wanted to make sure all of the California brides saw that Newsom has started stage three in most counties in California. Stage three includes "religious ceremonies" which include weddings. The guidelines say you can have 25% capacity or 100 guest, which ever is smaller. For example my wedding venue is a huge outdoor space so at this point I will be able to have 100 guests.

Where did you see that about the 25% capacity?
I’m not until December but my venue only holds 150 people so hopefully that will change

I think it’s only places of worship that can resume services? With less than 100 people or 25% capacity which ever is smaller and physical distancing. I took that to mean church services not weddings.

    This is pulled from https://abc7.com/california-reopen-when-newsom-executive-order-today-will/6158311/

Stage 3: Reopening higher risk workplaces, which require close proximity to other people, including:

    Hair salons

    • Nail salons
    • Gyms
    • Movie theaters
    • Sporting events without live audiences
    • In-person religious services (churches and weddings)

Under the new guidelines, churches, mosques, synagogues and other places of worship will be allowed to welcome only 25% of their total capacity -- or a maximum of 100 attendees, whichever is lower -- to services

So we aren’t officially in stage 3. He made exceptions for religious services and hair salons to be allowed in the counties that met the further stage 2 requirements, but gyms and nail salons still can’t open. Sports they said they can resume training camps but that’s because I think they realized they were going to lose money haha. But I know some counties like Los Angeles and Bay Area counties aren’t further into stage 2 yet and still only have to go retail. I’m still waiting on my county to get the other stuff as well 😩

Ummmm Gotcha well I guess this doesn’t apply to my venue as it’s not a church, so back to wondering what is actually allowed or not. Thanks for the info!

I am luckily in one of the counties that is in stage three, the one perk of living in a super rural place. I hope your county is soon.

When he made the four stage plan he grouped weddings in with religious services, so I believe it does apply. My venue is not a church either.

Lucky! Yeah I noticed the more rural places are moving quicker. I’m in Monterey and we are following what Bay Area is doing unfortunately.

That's good to know. i'm in LA county and i don't think we are going to be in phase 3 soon since they are much more conservative with phasing in the reopening but it is nice to see the gradual reopening of places

I just hope that we'll be allowed to have wedding of upwards of 150 or more people by the end of the year at least.
