cakes..price per slice?

The cake we were originally going to get was about $6/slice with decorated fondant icing. Instead, we're getting several cheesecakes for about half the price.

LOL mine was $8/ slice. I think that is insane, personally. But, it was good!

I was just quoted $2 per slice.

Mine is charging 2.89 per slice so it's going to cost me around 260.00 for my cake. we have about 85-90 guests coming.

Ours is about $1.90/slice

Wow... analy and I thought 5.50 was high!! at 8.00 a slice I would be having only 40 guests lol

mines 5.50 per slice and she uses French Buttercream thats with design on the cake which i think we are going to do the whole cake beaded then flowing with real flowers

If i am doing plain then decorating it with flowers it will be 4 a slice

plus a 50 delivery charge.

Mine is $3.75/slice for bride and groom's cake. D

I only got enough cake for 75 of my 130-150 guests... FH doesn't really like cake, and no one ever eats it... I don't want to be left with all that cake!!! I don't know how much it is per slice, but I think we are paying about $515 for the cake and then 4 dozen french macaroons (really on $165 since we won a $350 gift certificate)... If you don't think everyone will eat it then get a smaller cake or ask the caterer to serve smaller portions... also flavors and decorations should go into account for the pricing i should think...

Woo! I dont think I could pay over 3.00 a slice for some cake..! That cake better be gold! lol

Ours is $2.75 a slice (or $2.50 per cupcake) but if you want fondant it's $3.50 a slice. Her pricing is all inclusive so she can make something super detailed and not up the price or can make something simple for the same price. She also includes the cutting supplies and cake table decorations at no extra charge which is nice. We get to choose from 30 different flavors of cake and I forget how many different fillings. She's a sweet lady and I love her work!

We are getting cupcakes for $1.50 per cupcake.

Our bakery normally charges $4/slice but we are paying $2.80/slice. We get a discount for booking them through our venue.

Oh goodness... I actually can't remember how much it was per slice. I think it was like between $2 & $3. It ended up being about $500 for roughly 200 people... which would be about $2.50. That might be about right.

Wow I was looking at paying 500 from just about anyone for 150 people and 400 for 100 people!!

My FH cousins wife does them on the side so she has offered to make my to cakes.

5.50 seems high!! We are just getting ready to order our cake and its 2.25 per slive for buttercream icing and 2.75 for fondant.

So its about 280 to feed 130 people.

@Ana- Yeah I live in the LA area seems nothing is cheap. Our baker was recommended to us by my FBIL whos an executive chef at a 5 star restaurant. Her cakes are supposed to look amazing in french buttercream I guess thats all she does. Her email to me said that french buttercream is made with European butter, not shortening. Which is why it taste better. I cant wait to taste it. I for sure want a cake that ppl want to eat. So if our cake cost 5.50 a slice and ppl actually eat it It will be worth it.

My daughters cake ends up being around $6.85 per slice. We are paying $514 and they figured that 75 of the guests will eat cake, as not everyone will.
