Cakes cakes and more cakes !!!!

I’m finding it so hard to pick a cake I love. How did you all decide? Was it in the budget you planned or did you have to expand?

Our cake was included in the venue contract. We did the tasting and opted to go with basics that were included in that price. We didn't want to spend extra on the cake. People still commented on how lovely it was, and it was just a basic 3-tiered cake with some royal icing flowers cascading down one side.

I definitely had to expand. Initially I wanted to spend no more than $350, but with the design I wanted I ended up with $100 more.

The baker is referral from an employee who had booked her for her wedding. What sold me on it when coincidentally my venue recommended the same baker.....I am c'mon its Atlanta there has to be like hundreds of them.

Our venue included 3x different bakeries. We ended up going with the bakery that taste the best, but whose baker is so rude. It kind of drives me crazy just thinking of how rude this woman was/is - but her cakes were good enough that I could overlook the rudeness.

Well not really, but FH really liked her cakes & is the one more into sweets so I gave in.

Our venue has no cake cutting fee so it was just up to us to find a bakery that would deliver. Most places charge per person depending on the size of your wedding. We are expecting 250 people at $5 per slice for a tiered fondant cake. "Slices" of cake can vary from $2-$10 depending on your area. If you wanted to save on cake you could do a small tiered cake or just one tier for cutting and then serve sheet cakes or cupcakes to your guests. Cupcakes run about $1-$5 dollars each depending on decoration and your area.

We went with the bakery that had the best version of the flavor we knew we wanted for our one tier cake. We also knew we wanted to do cupcakes instead of a giant cake. The bakery we chose had the most unique fall flavors that we thought would wow our guests and chose 3 in addition to the same flavor as our cake. The best part is we came in under budget.

Our venue included 3 dessert shots per person so we only purchased a one-tier cake. Otherwise, we would have opted for a 3-tier cake with two flavors.

I went to literally a dozen bakeries for quotes and it was all so pricey I was trying to see if perhaps I should do an alternative because it was hard to stomach the costs of a wedding cake o.o but anyway I finally found one for cheap and went with that. I decided on flavors based on what was the norm aha I just went with strawberry for two layers and mango for one.

Our cake was included with our venue but we ended up going over the price allowance because I wanted fun flavors. You need to go a tasting then choose.

We budgeted $500 for our cake and we'll be meeting that price. We saved by having minimal decorations and keeping it to a white buttercream. Our cake is also smaller, with additional servings on a sheet cake.

My husband and I like simplicity so chose a 4 tier wedding cake with buttercream frosting and the flavors were chocolate cake with chocolate chips and vanilla cake. Our cake cost was $375.00 and the cake came out beautiful and tasted delicious!!

Having a red velvet cake was always important to me, but bakers in my area wouldn't make one. I finally found a baker and was surprised by the price: three tiers for $150! My FMIL is such a sweetheart and insists on paying for the cake!

Oh wow that’s amazing. I know it’s kinda hard to find a bakery that will do it, which is weird to me. That’s what me and my FH are looking for.
