Our cake is going to be pretty plain because FH is super picky about sweets, but we're trying to mix our cupcakes up a bit. So our cutting cake is going to be chocolate cake, with chocolate mousse between the layers and white buttercream on the outside. Our cupcakes will be red velvet with cream cheese frosting (my favorite); a caramel apple flavor with apple cake, apple pie filling, and caramel frosting; and one that's kind of like strawberry shortcake with vanilla cake, fresh strawberry filling and white frosting on top!

We haven't done our cake tasting yet, but we're most likely going to do a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting unless something else sparks our interest when we go for the tasting!

We are also having a venetian table, with loads of Italian pastries, chocolate covered strawberries, pies, and a ton more deserts so we're going pretty basic with the cake cause there will be so many sweets at the end of the night.

We're doing like 5 or 6 assorted mini cupcake flavors ranging from basic vanilla to jack daniels and caramel. My husband and I are also doing a single tier cake from the same bakery thats peanut butter chocolate.

We are doing a 3 layer cake and then 10 dozen mini-cupcakes so we can have all of the flavors :-)

For the cake, biggest section is lemon with raspberry puree, middle section is strawberry, smallest section is vanilla (traditional wedding cake).

Cupcakes are Double Dutch Chocolate, German Chocolate, Red Velvet & Carrot Cake.

Oh my gosh the Jack Daniels ones sound amazing! FH and I were talking about how great it would be to have 1 or 2 boozy cupcakes but our baker doesn't do them.

It was so hard to choose because our cake baker makes amazing flavors. I chose for my 3-tier cake to be vanilla with fresh blackberry filling, vanilla with strawberry champagne filling, and almond cake with almond buttercream filling and almond icing all over. The grooms cake will be 2-tiers - classic strawberry cake with chocolate buttercream filling (FH's favorite) and chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling, with chocolate buttercream icing all over. We're also having decorated sugar cookies that represent our two daughters. I'm really excited about all of it!
