Cake

JuneBride2018, on June 1, 2019 at 5:56 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
Our One year anniversary is tomorrow and I just took our cake out to defrost only to find out it’s just in the pretty cardboard box still......unwrapped. I guess we totally forgot and just put it in the freezer the night of. I believe it’s too late to ask for another because our cake company stays booked way in advance. Help!! What to do? Do I just throw it out and forget about tradition or try to see what it’s like after defrosting. We weren’t going to eat the entire cake obviously. Just a little crumb to say we kept the tradition. Lol. I would love to hear from those that maybe had the same problem or didn’t keep tradition although I really want to.

You can certainly try and defrost it and maybe see how that goes? Or you can just buy 2 cupcakes and have a dessert party lol.

I did keep this tradition for my first wedding and i liked it but im not too sure i will keep it this time. We have a tiny fridge and it is mostly filled with meat lol so probably not going to happen. Although it is a very cute tradition.

I am very sorry that the cake wasn’t in the box. We haven't gotten married yet. But we aren’t planning on freezing the cake. The bakery that we went with provides a free 6” cake a year after your wedding that’s the same cake & matches the original design.

I would try defrosting and see how it goes!

Defrost and see how it goes. Worst case is you need to contact the bakery and wait a couple of days.

I am a bit confused by this. Does the unwrapping of the cake effect the defrosting?
