Cake

Danielle, on October 7, 2019 at 10:48 AM Posted in Planning 0 5
I'm almost a year out, but now that I've got the venue/caterer, dj, photographer and videographer and an appointment for dress shopping, I feel like cake will be the next big step. I know it probably won't need to be right yet, but how far out should I get it taken care of?

Depends on the bakery. I tried to talk to my Baker about 6 months out but they said get back to them when we had a final headcount, about 2 months. But they were a smaller bakery and we were still finalizing things like 2 weeks before!

My bakery said the earliest to order was 6 months and the latest to place the order is 3 months but it depends on where you go.

My baker is always super busy so I booked her and did my tasting 8 months out. It varies by bakery, though!

Daughter did her tasting and the baker "penciled" her in on his calendar about a year in advance, but then she actually ordered the cake and paid the deposit around 6-8 months. (That was the earliest the baker wanted her to place the "official order.")
