Cake time!

I did mine at 8 months because that’s when I could travel

We are doing it now, 9 months out. One of our favorites for the price and taste is already potentially too booked . We are waiting to hear whether she can squeeze us in based on the size of her other wedding that day. Then again, she’s a solo baker. Larger places are likely to do more cakes per weekend (another bakery just told us they do 10/weekend).

We will be doing our tasting in early January for our July wedding.

We’re doing ours today, we’re 5 months out

It definitely depends on the place. We have a cake tasting scheduled for December 22 of this year (my birthday!!) for our November 8 wedding next year and when we reached out they said that was perfectly fine. I reached out to another bakery and they said they would prefer us to wait till about 6 months out. The place we are going to next month is also a larger bakery with shops open in Iowa and New York, as well. They’re not a huge chain, but have about 5-6 stores I would say.

We're doing ours Nov. 9th for our February wedding..but we have to use this baker per the venue. So we are only tasting to see what we want. I would start at least 8-9 months out if I was tasting to hire.

I did mine 3 months out, my venue included cake that I could choose from two different bakeries so I just had to try them out

I got my cake maybe around four months before the wedding
