Cake tasting

Daughter "found" her baker and did a tasting probably at least a year before the wedding. He "penciled her in," but wouldn't take an "official" booking until about 8 months prior. However, it was a small, newer bakery. I'd guess a well-established bakery probably takes bookings earlier than that. I'd email or call those you're considering and ask about their timelines. We booked our cake about 13 months before the wedding.

We did tastings of two bakeries, but we did them so early at the advice of our wedding coordinator. The bakery we were most eager to try is in demand enough that booking at least a year in advance was ideal, and that's the bakery we wound up using.

Whenever you'd like! It's never too early to get some of these smaller tasks completed

Our cake was included with our venue so we didn't have to go searching for one, but, they wouldn't see us until about 6 months before. It might be a little different if you are having to search out a baker but I would still say maybe 8-10 months before.

Probably as early as you'd like. We did ours this weekend, about 2 months out.
