Cake tasting was a success!

My fiancé and I are visiting Santa Cruz for the day and we had our cake tasting appointment today! Due to the pandemic, we were given a big tasting box with 4 of our cake flavors that we chose along with some fun extra goodies (cupcakes and donuts) . I thought that I would like the vanilla funfetti the best (my favorite cake of all time), but the other 3 were a little more exciting with the fillings! We ultimately decided on cookie butter, lemon poppyseed, and red velvet. We’ll go over our actual cake design at a later date since we have plenty of time to discuss that part. These were so tasty! The lemon poppyseed had a lemon curd and frosting filling, and the cookie butter had a cookie butter and frosting filling. The red velvet we just loved the flavor of! Yum!!!     These look so good! Cookie butter sounds delicious. We're going with lemon cake with pineapple curd and thinking about having a vanilla layer just to provide options (the vanilla was our second favorite).

    Whoa... You just make me want to eat cake!!! 😂 Good thing Valentine is coming. I’ll wait. Which bakery did you choose? It has been cloudy and raining lately in Bay Area. I hope you still enjoy your stay. While you are here maybe you want to eat at Shadowbrook! It’s great.

    Congratulations!! That's so much fun! We went with bourbon pound cake with bacon and caramel buttercream in between the layers with Swiss Meringue on top. I'm so stoked to see everyone taste it!!

    Yay, cake!

    Our bakery actually sent DH home with a 'home tasting box' pre-COVID. It was basically a bunch of mini cupcakes, which we split apart and mixed and matched as we wanted. So much fun!
