Cake Pulls Question

Liz, on November 8, 2022 at 3:33 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

I'm ordering cake pulls and I was wondering if that's a thing the bride usually participates in or if it's just for the girls? I just want to be sure I have enough! Smiley heart

I've never heard of such a thing. This must be an area or culture specific thing.

Lots of unique ideas pop up in the discussions.

    A quick search shows:

A cake pull, sometimes also known as a ribbon pull, is a New Orleans wedding tradition not unlike the bouquet toss. The bride gathers a number of her single or eligible female friends around the wedding cake. Inserted into the wedding cake are various charms with ribbon tails. After a count of three each of the women pull a ribbon, exposing a charm. The charm is meant to signify the puller’s future.

    It's just for the bridesmaids.

Interesting!! Kind of like segmented dinner rolls but a cake? Do tell!

It's for the girls like single bridesmaids or the bridesmaids because the bride wanted to gifted them something special

There's a picture and an article sharing the explanation of the charms. The charms are under the cake but the ribbons are outside so the charms can be pulled out.
